The first thing you should be wary of are any companies that ask you to pay money to become a mystery shopper. In addition to this, you should do lots of research on any mystery shopping company that you come across. If there are companies advertising for mystery shopping that offer to pay you money to do the job before you've even started, that should also raise a red flag.

Secondly, there is never a fee to pay for whatever reason there may be. To become a mystery shopper, you must fill out an application form to go through a selection process just like applying for a job. This is not a work-at-home business opportunity so there should not be a financial investment from your part. There's no fee for accessing or being part of the company's database of mystery shoppers. Since a minimum of assignments is not guaranteed, it would be unfair to charge an access fee.

A business hires a mystery shopping company to evaluate their services; and the mystery shopping company, in turn, hires shoppers to perform those evaluations. Need to get laid
