Instead, the quartz is crushed up and then mixed with a man made filler material which actually acts as the strength. Quartz tops are harder than granite and about twice as tough which means they can take more abuse. They also handle heat better since the base materials are formulated to deal with this problem.

First off, granite is very highly functioning. Granite's remarkably robust and tough. Because of this, it can stand up to the substantial amount of traffic that's prevalent within a modern day home. Granite is really hard to chip or scratch and, when it is cared for, it's going to keep working well for decades. Granite is in addition cold to touch, rendering it a great working surface for making bread.
