Another factor to consider is the rent or buy option as there are pros and cons to each one. When you rent and something should go wrong, the water cooler supplier will repair the equipment or even swap it out with another comparable model, thanks to the rental agreement which typically includes maintenance and repairs. However, if you own the equipment, you are responsible for finding a repairman, paying his labour fees as well as any parts.

You basically have two models to choose from when it comes to water coolers - one that requires bottled water refills and the other is a plumbed option that is directly attached your water pipes. Coolers that require bottled water refills are cheaper and are best if you want portability; you just need a location close to an electrical outlet. With plumbed-in options though, you must have a clear location close to a water pipe source as well as an electrical outlet. This set-up is more permanent and cannot easily be relocated, although it is fairly easy to set up and costs less over time.
